(ISPS), a general incorporated association, is a Japanese organization dedicated to promoting sports, aimed at social contribution of sports, particularly emphasizing the development of disabled sports. ISPS carries out international support and management of this goal, including the support and running of blind golf, senior golf, and the incubation of senior sports instructors. ISPS is a member of Tokyo Sports Association, a public interest incorporated foundation. Following the philosophy of Haruhisa Handa, the founder and chairman, that “Social contribution in the world of sports renders cultural creation”, ISPS also actively encourages promotion of so-called minor sports. The founder, Haruhisa Handa, is known as “The Father of Blind Golf in Japan” due to the leading role he played in introducing the game of blind golf to Japan. == History == On October 30, 2006, ISPS was established and registered as “International Sports Promotion Society, a intermediary corporation with the limited liability”. In accordance with the legal amendment to abolish the title of “intermediary corporation with the limited liability”, the name of the entity was changed to “International Sports Promotion Society, a general incorporated association” on December 1, 2008. * ISPS was founded in 2006, and has created “Handa Cup” in US, as well as “Handa Australian Cup” in Australia to fund and support women’s senior golf tournaments. It also began organizing amateur events such as “Handa Cup All-Japan Golf Tutors Pro-Am Open Championship”. * Since 2007, ISPS has also supported bowling tournaments in Japan, and has co-sanctioned Handa Cup Japan Pro Bowling Championship and Handa Cup All Japan Women's Pro Bowling Championship. It also began to establish and support tournaments for international major tours. * Since 2010, ISPS has been establishing, supporting and hosting championships in Japan such as : JPGA Senior Tour and JGTO Challenge Tournament, including ISPS Handa Cup Senior Masters. * Since 2011, ISPS has supported Molesey Boat Club in UK.
